Encuentros is a Peruvian organization that provides assistance and protection to refugees, asylum seekers, and migrants in vulnerable situations. The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is an independent humanitarian organization that supports persons forced to flee. We protect displaced individuals and support them as they build a new future. We began our efforts after World War II. Today, we work in both new and protracted crises in 40 countries. Around 15,000 humanitarian workers work with NRC. In Latin America, NRC operates in Colombia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Panama, and Venezuela.
We specialize in six areas: legal assistance, protection from violence, education, housing, food security, and water, sanitation, and hygiene.
We advocate for persons forced to flee, promoting and defending the rights and dignity of displaced persons in local communities, with national governments, and at the international level.
NRC’s Internal Displacement Monitoring Centre in Geneva is a global leader in monitoring, reporting, and advocating for displaced persons within their own countries. We also work with partners worldwide through NORCAP, our global provider of humanitarian expertise, development, and peacebuilding. NORCAP collaborates with local, national, and international partners to find sustainable solutions to meet the needs of people at risk.
The International Rescue Committee responds to the world’s worst humanitarian crises, helping to restore health, safety, education, economic wellbeing, and power to people devastated by conflict and disaster. Founded in 1933 at the call of Albert Einstein, the IRC works in more than 40 countries and in 28 U.S. cities helping people to survive, reclaim control of their future, and strengthen their communities. Our commitment is reflected in the generation of key knowledge about the situation of these rights, disseminated through our publications: books, documents, and “En Contexto” reports.
The Scalabrinian Mission is part of the Congregation of the Missionary Sisters of St. Charles Borromeo Scalabrinians who have been present in 27 countries for 130 years.
In Ecuador, the Scalabrinian Mission has been present for 32 years, working with migrants, refugees, displaced persons, returnees and members of the local community in vulnerable conditions.
Since its performance in the years of work with the people of interest, its actions are developed from four programs of attention, being them:
1° Promoción Humana – humanitarian assistance work from reception spaces, delivery of cash transfers, support with humanitarian transport from the border region, assistance from community kitchens, psychosocial and legal assistance.
2° Children and Youth – from a response with a focus on protection from the family, community and student environment. Providing a safe community space for group participation with a playful and formative methodology that strengthens artistic, cultural and participatory expressions. At the same time provide a family accompaniment from a proposal of commitment to protection and access to rights.
3° Livelihoods – from the social and solidarity economy proposal, which strengthens the social and economic integration of the people of interest together with the community, based on the culture of self-saving, technical training, support for entrepreneurial initiatives and organizational strengthening.
4° Advocacy and Women – work based on social action, from the articulation with local, provincial and national governments to promote access to rights of people of interest. The work with women starts from the training proposal for the exercise of rights, life skills, self-management, GBV prevention and community transformation.
As a Scalabrinian Mission, we are committed to 6 Social Development Goals: 3 – Health and Well-being; 4 – Quality Education; 5 – Gender Equality; 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth; 10 – Reduction of Inequalities; 16 – Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions.

We are part of the more than 160 members of the Caritas Internationalis confederation, working in grassroots communities in nearly every country in the world. We are Caritas, whether as small volunteer groups or among the largest humanitarian organizations in the world. Inspired by the Catholic faith, Caritas is the hand of the Church, a hand that helps the poor, the vulnerable, and the excluded—regardless of race or religion—to build a world founded on justice and fraternal love.
Mission: Promote actions in light of the Gospel and the Social Doctrine of the Church that enable the poorest and most excluded to fully exercise their right to a dignified life, strengthening their capacities, increasing their human, physical, and social capital, and involving them in the development of the civilization of Love in Venezuela.
Vision: From our Christian commitment, especially with the lives of the poor and excluded, and through inter-diocesan communion and solidarity, we aspire to a just and fraternal Venezuela made up of reconciled men and women, with dignity and rights, free, in solidarity, and protagonists of their own history as sons and daughters of God.
We are a non-profit Church organization under the Colombian Bishops’ Conference (CEC) that seeks truth, reconciliation, justice, and charity in the relationships and basic structures of our society. Our work is always guided by the Gospel and the doctrine of the Catholic Church. This allows us to consolidate an efficient and fair effort for various communities within the Ecclesiastical Jurisdictions across the entire country.
Through our work we encourage, inspire, and propose pathways to accompany the various situations of injustice and social exclusion present in the country. Together with migrant, peasant, and Indigenous communities, as well as civil society organizations, we build an Ecuador that grows in unity and promotes justice and human dignity.
Our work focuses on implementing comprehensive human development programs and projects aimed at the most remote families in Peru, living in poverty and vulnerability. We seek to ensure these families are the protagonists of their own development, not passive recipients of assistance programs. Our challenge is to reduce social exclusion, increasing youth and women’s participation in new forms of social leadership for the benefit of their families and communities.
We are an organization inspired by Catholic Christianity, dedicated to carrying out social service and human development work.
We are inspired by the Gospel and the social doctrine of the Catholic Church, as well as by the hope of people living in poverty, to respond to humanitarian crises, promote integral human development, and fight the root causes of poverty and violence. We encourage Catholic communities and all people of good will to show solidarity with their brothers and sisters suffering around the world.
Caritas responds to humanitarian crises such as natural disasters, conflicts, and the consequences of climate change. We save lives, alleviate suffering, and help rebuild livelihoods and communities for the long term. We want women and men in the poorest and most vulnerable communities to survive and recover from humanitarian crises and live in a safe and protected environment.
